Glencoe, Scotland
On Tuesday, 13th February, 2001, the 309th Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony was held at the memorial to the Glencoe Massacre, in Glencoe, Scotland.
This year it was the turn of the Clan Donald Society of New Zealand to sponsor the wreath. The wreath was laid by Lois, Lady Glengarry, who has succeeded her late husband, Donald MacDonnell, 22nd Chief of Glengarry, as Patron of the Otago Branch of Clan Donald in New Zealand.
The weather was sunny, but chilly, with the snow capped mountains of Glencoe as a background to the memorial.
There were approximately 40 members of Clan Donald, including Clanranald, Lady Glengarry, the Presidents of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Society's - Norman Macdonald and Angus Macdonald respectively, Peter Macdonald, Resident Director of the Clan Donald Lands Trust, and local school children.
